U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest of the Southern District of New York keeps ordering an alleged agent of Qatar to produce material related to a California federal suit filed by a Trump-connected Republican fundraiser caught up in a number of different scandals connected to the president.
Each time, Joseph Allaham, who is said to have worked as an unregistered Qatari agent, has tried to deflect Forrest’s orders to produce material as part of discovery in the California case brought by GOP fundraiser Elliott Broidy. Broidy’s suit alleges the country of Qatar, along with named agents said to be working for it, stole and leaked emails that purported to show his efforts bolster the status of Qatar’s rival, the United Arab Emirates, in the Trump White House.
