New White House attorney Emmet Flood found two voices of support from perhaps the only people who know the high-stakes pressure of representing President Donald Trump in the special counsel probe.

The former Williams & Connolly partner drew a firestorm of controversy last week after he appeared with White House Chief of Staff John Kelly at two congressional oversight briefings. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI director Chris Wray were expected to discuss classified information related to the FBI’s use of a confidential human source who had contacted Trump campaign advisers in 2016.
