Last October, LexisNexis’ Legal & Professional unit moved its Business of Law Software Solutions division—12 miles—from Cary, N.C., to Raleigh, after cutting a deal with North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus to serve as the group’s headquarters. “The relocation increases the space available to LexisNexis as it fulfills its commitment to build a ‘Software Center of Excellence’ in North Carolina,” the company explained to LTN last fall. The move doubled the unit’s Cary space (120,000 square feet), with the ability to support up to 650 employees. The new location not only serves as a hub for the BLSS unit, but also will house other product and technology groups.

So it’s not surprising that the company is settling into the Raleigh community. LexisNexis has signed on as the title sponsor of the Ironman 70.3 Raleigh triathlon on Sunday, and has put together a team of about 20 employees to compete in the race. This second-year event spans a 70-mile course and includes a one-mile swim in Jordan Lake, a 56-mile bicycle race through Chatham and Wake counties, and a 13-mile run that culminates in downtown Raleigh.
