Sofware Technology Inc. launched last month version 17 of its integrated practice management and billing software, Tabs3 and PracticeMaster, with a new document management component, wrote Neil J. Squillante in a TechnoLawyer report.

Squillante says most document management systems rely on a combination of Windows Explorer and rules covering document naming and storage that everyone must follow if the system is to work, only sometimes that doesn’t happen.
