Once the foundation of law firm’s business, the billable model is facing an uncertain future in the face of in-house counsel’s unprecedented AI-driven productivity.

Kevin Gidney, chief technical officer at Seal Software, recently told LTN that because AI technology can help automate finding relevant documents in huge data sets, like those used in contract review, it is has enabled in-house counsel to essentially in-source the job of its law firms.
