Like it, hate it, or entirely befuddled by it, “the cloud” is expanding to engulf all industries, and legal’s transition to it is well underway. And with the legal market abuzz with vendor promises of cheaper storage, maintenance and installation for law firms and legal departments, venture capitalists may soon be setting their sights on this arena of legal technology.
Indicative of the growing interest paid to cloud technology is CloudLex’s closing of a Series A funding round at $3.7 million. Leading the round was Aligned Partners, a venture capital firm that focuses specifically on cloud computing and enterprise mobile technologies. The firm led a Series B round this past December for automated marketing provider Full Circle Insights with a $4.7 million investment.
