Members of Code for Nashville and the Music City Legal Hackers teamed up for their first collaborative meeting at Vanderbilt Law School, along with representatives of major Nashville-based firms, law professors, and technologists to establish where the groups can find mutual interests.

Larry Bridgesmith, adjunct professor at Vanderbilt Law, explained that while technology dedicated to serving the legal community generates an estimated $3 billion annual economy, 80 percent of U.S. legal needs for both individuals and businesses go unmet because of costs.
