If a reckoning arises for those not giving data protection and compliance its fair due, it will most likely start in the under-regulated, almost invisible world of business cloud applications.
According to Netskope’s “Cloud Report,” the average amount of cloud apps a global business uses rose almost 50 percent over 2015 to 917 applications, rising 21 percent alone from October 2015 to the end of the year. Unsurprisingly, the biggest adopter of cloud apps was the technology and IT services industry, while the financial services and banking industry was the fourth-largest adopter.
