Ever want to see a normally unflappable lawyer flinch? Mention the term “data breach.” Cybersecurity is increasingly a top-of-mind concern for firms, and a survey from the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) shows just how much attention they’re paying to shoring up their defenses.

The 2015 ILTA Tech Survey revealed that the 420 total law firms surveyed (about two-thirds of which are under 150 attorneys) are beefing up their cybersecurity presence. Nearly half (49 percent) of the firms surveyed currently have security awareness training programs in place, a number that increases to 86 percent of law firms with more than 350 attorneys.
