Two Am Law 100 firms have gotten on the “.law” top-level domain bandwagon by securing their domain names through Minds + Machines, the owner of the new “.law” top-level domain. This means that come Oct. 12, DLA Piper could be DLAPiper.law and Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom could be Skadden.law.

The domain, which entered into a 60-day sunrise period on July 30, requires validation of legal credentials, will provide the legal profession with a “trusted and memorable” URL to stand out from domains that have not been professionally vetted in the crowded .com space, according to Lou Andreozzi, CEO of .law. He anticipates more Am Law 200 firms will soon jump on board.
