It’s a dark day for Darkode, as a coordinated law enforcement effort spanning 20 countries has shut down the computer hacking forum and charged 12 of its members with computer fraud conspiracy.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on July 15 that criminal charges have been filed in the Western District of Pennsylvania and elsewhere against 12 individuals associated with the forum. The DOJ said that cyber-criminals gathered on the forum to “buy, sell, trade and share information, ideas, and tools to facilitate unlawful intrusions on others’ computers and electronic devices.”
