The French may not have a 40-hour workweek (“When the French Clock Off at 6 PM, They Really Mean It”), but if they are serious about one thing, it’s their food. According to Kevin Rawlinson of the BBC, a blogger, Caroline Doudet, has been fined and penalized by a judge in Bordeaux for writing a negative review about a restaurant, which ranked high on search engines.

The post was titled “The place to avoid in Cap-Ferret: Il Giardino” and the judge ruled the title should be changed to decrease the prominence of “place to avoid” in the results, reported Rawlinson. Doudet also had to pay the restaurant damages and legal fees. Aggravating factors included her following of around 3,000 people, which the judge said was a significant number.
