DomainSkate, an online brand protection software provider, inaugurated a new namesake service on Monday to help businesses preserve their online brand reputations. DomainSkate patrols the Web in a dragnet-type operation to catch domain-name brand infringers.
“A large number of businesses are surprised that new domains are appearing on the Internet and don’t realize they are giving cyber-squatters more opportunities to take advantage of the uninformed,” said DomainSkate founder David Mitnick in a press release. Mitnick worked for more than a decade as an intellectual property attorney at Amster Rothstein & Ebenstein before founding DomainSkate in 2011.
