On Thursday evening Eastern time, the American Bar Association (ABA) notified members via email of a “data security incident that impacted the username and salted and hashed password” of certain users who accessed either the ABA website prior to 2018 or the ABA Career Center since 2018. The email stated that no passwords were exposed in plain text.
As of the time the email was sent, the ABA said it had received no reports that anyone’s information had been misused.
