Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has been charged with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire, commodities and securities fraud in an eight-count indictment unsealed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York Tuesday morning.

Bankman-Fried, 30, was arrested Monday evening in the Bahamas at the request of U.S. authorities. During his first appearance in court in the Bahamas Tuesday, Bankman-Fried said he plans to fight extradition to the United States, and a judge denied his request to be released on bail.
