What happens when you combine an ongoing global pandemic with a tight labor market? You get a phenomenon like the Great Resignation, where professionals at nearly every level start reevaluating their lives and what’s important to them—and become increasingly willing to leave their place of employment if it is no longer a match.

Law firms and other legal organizations have, of course, not been immune to this trend. Firms lost nearly 25% of their associates in 2021, a markedly higher-than-average attrition rate.
