A disbarred attorney was sentenced to three years in prison in Manhattan federal court Thursday for defrauding investors through his litigation finance company “Cash4Cases.”
Jaeson Birnbaum, 48, pleaded guilty to securities fraud in 2021 after he was accused of obtaining more than $3 million in investments based on misrepresentations. He was ordered to pay $2,661,072.24 in restitution and to forfeit the same amount in addition to the prison sentence.
