Months after reaching a settlement with California drivers over unlawful data collection, 3M Co. has hired longtime Dell Technologies lawyer Sooji Seo as  general counsel and chief privacy officer.

In February, 3M and toll operators agreed to pay the California drivers $215 million, ending six years of class action litigation. According to the complaint, personal identifiable information collected on two Southern California toll roads in an attempt to identify toll evaders violated California law. The collection of the data from license plate numbers and other identifiable information affected 15 million drivers.
