Depending on what side of the courtroom a lawyer argues from, Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) may strike fear into their client or give them a significant legal bite to protect a citizens’ privacy rights. But plaintiff and defense attorneys agree some provisions of BIPA should be amended to strengthen the law.

Yesterday, McDermott Will & Emery hosted the “BIPA: Where Do We Go From Here?” webinar that highlighted some suggested changes to the law, including a statute of limitations, maximum statutory damages, exemptions and other modifications.
