Legal tech consortiums and consultancies are emerging more frequently to keep track of the growing market. While many established legal tech companies are actively leveraging consultancies to expand their marketing, legal tech startups are also eyeing consultancies and consortiums to accelerate their growth. But for some startups, they say the early years of a legal tech company are best left to building customer relationships one on one.

To be sure, while a startup may join or avoid a legal tech consultancy for myriad reasons, the financial cost for membership and revenue-sharing agreements can be a significant deterrent for startups.
