On Aug. 20, China passed its Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), becoming the latest country to establish privacy rights and protocols for collecting and transferring personal information.
The PIPL applies to the processing of personal information of natural persons within the Republic of China when the processing purpose is to provide products or services or analyze and evaluate the activities of “domestic natural persons.”
