The chief legal officer for cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is applauding a new rule proposal from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency that would prohibit large banks from discriminating against so-called “legal but disfavored” entities.

“Lots of people in lots of industries have been waiting for somebody to have the courage to stand up and do this. I think it’s refreshingly bipartisan and it’s an idea whose time has long come,” Kraken CLO Marco Santori said in an interview Monday.
