It is safe to say 2020 didn’t turn out like any of us expected. While we forecasted a challenging and changing legal technology landscape, the novel coronavirus pandemic’s disruptions were certainly nowhere among our foremost concerns. One thing is certain, however: Planning for contingencies in the event of unforeseen circumstances is key to an organization’s survival in times of uncertainty.

So as legal professionals budget for the year ahead, they should holistically review their technology strategy and infrastructure, aligning them with their business goals. Fortunately, while much has changed in the wider world, many of the practices we have encouraged legal professionals to adopt regarding safeguarding and effectively using their technology have not.
