Legal Week to ramp up technology coverage with new partnership with Legal IT Insider

Legal Week has entered into an exclusive media partnership with Legal IT Insider, which will see its editor Caroline Hill contribute a regular column on the latest developments in the fast-moving world of legal technology.

Hill, a former City lawyer who spent four years as a reporter at Legal Week before going freelance in 2008, will also speak at the upcoming LegalWeek CONNECT event this November, which will focus on talent, technology and new thinking in the world of law.

Since leaving Legal Week she has written for a variety of publications, including Legal Business, and is well known in the legal IT market.

Legal IT Insider – also known as The Orange Rag – provides legal IT news from the perspective of law firms, in-house legal teams and tech vendors around the world. As part of the deal, it will be helping to promote LegalWeek CONNECT, which is taking place in London on 29-30 November.

The event will feature a keynote address from former England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward. More than 80 global law firm leaders and general counsel have been involved in creating the event, including Ashurst managing partner Paul Jenkins, Macfarlanes senior partner Charles Martin and Dentons global chief executive Elliott Portnoy.

In-house speakers include World Bank group GC Sandie Okoro and PayPal chief business affairs and legal officer Louise Pentland, while leading law firm figures in the line-up include Clifford Chance global head of innovation and business change Bas Boris Visser and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer global innovation architect Milos Kresojevic.

The event will also feature a competition aiming to identify new ideas to shake up the legal profession, with entrants judged by a high-profile panel of in-house lawyers.
