Why did you become a lawyer?
A quick review of the various career application forms on offer told me that the legal ones were the shortest, with the exception of one notable firm, which just asked you to ‘write about yourself’ – I didn’t.
 
Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
When I was deciding which training contract to accept, my dad gave me his one genuinely useful piece of advice: go and work with people you like. I did and, generally speaking, I still like them.
 
What’s your proudest professional moment?
Without a doubt, the first time I was lampooned in our in-house satirical magazine was a special moment. It’s a rite of passage for all partners capable of laughing at themselves, and some who are not.

… and worst day on the job?
I’ve tried to repress the memories but it was the culmination of five Sundays in a row in an industrial estate in High Wycombe.
