The San Diego sun has yet to rise when Bill Voge returns a Legal Week call at 5am. It’s the last day of his summer holiday – and the morning after he was elected as Latham & Watkins’ new global chairman and managing partner – but the London-based project finance lawyer is sounding relatively fresh.
And if the previous few days had been marked by uncertainty or stress – given a split result in the initial election to replace Bob Dell meant a run-off with Los Angeles partner Jeff Greenberg – there is no hint of this in his voice.
