King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) and Minter Ellison have each made up eight new lawyers in Australia as part of their annual promotion rounds as Australia’s economy has begun to pick up.
The two firms, which alongside Allens, Clayton Utz, Ashurst Australia and Herbert Smith Freehills are among the country’s ‘big six’ legal outfits, have both promoted more lawyers this year compared with 2013, when KWM announced seven new partners and Minter Ellison announced four.
