Herbert Smith Freehills has confirmed that global head of dispute resolution Sonya Leydecker and managing partner Mark Rigotti as the firm’s joint chief executive officers. Current CEOs David Willis and Gavin Bell will step down next April having held the role since legacy firms Herbert Smith and Freehills merged in October 2012. The new appointments – which will take effect from 1 May 2014 for a three year term - follow a recommendation by the firm's global council, which was put to partner ratification.
