The lifetime achievement award went to John Wotton, who represents an increasingly rare breed as a distinguished City lawyer who went on to play a senior role in the Law Society. The Allen & Overy veteran was made president of the Law Society in 2011, becoming one of the few commercial practitioners to lead the body over the last 20 years.
