The Crown Prosecution Service has announced today that it has decided to charge former News of the World editors Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks and six others with offences relating to alleged phone-hacking between 2002 and 2006.

In addition to Brooks and Coulson, the News of the World employees to be charged are former managing editor Stuart Kuttner, former assistant editor Ian Edmondson, former chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck and news editors Greg Miskiw and James Weatherup. Private investigator Glenn Mulcaire will also face further charges.
