Why did you choose law? I chose to study law after failing my medical to fly jets in the RAF. Aeronautical engineering suddenly lost its appeal when I was sent home from the aircrew selection centre. Legal work experience in my home town, Dumfries, informed me of two decisions: first, I loved the practical application of the law; but second, that the type of work which really grabbed me was not generally to be found in south west Scotland.
