Some Howrey associates were more fortunate than others. This winter, there were near constant reports in the press and the blogosphere (It’s Howrey Doody Time, anyone?) about the firm’s slumping financial performance and steady stream of partner defections. Finally, in mid-March, the troubled law firm decided to dissolve. But one Washington DC-based fourth-year associate who asked not to be named ignored the rumblings. He says he kept calm and didn’t return calls from headhunters.
