Dewey & LeBoeuf has helped to secure a victory for Caster Semenya in the South African athlete’s battle to be reinstated to international competition after a forced 11-month absence while authorities debated her gender.

In one of the most interesting sports law cases in recent years, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has accepted a recommendation from a panel of medical experts that Semenya, who burst onto the scene by winning the 800m race at the World Championships last August, should be allowed to compete in future competitions.
