Just before starting the Legal Practice Course in September we, Allen & Overy’s (A&O) future trainees, attended a two-day induction at the firm’s Bishops Square office during which we worked on a project for pro bono client the London Legal Support Trust (LLST).
The LLST is a charity that helps to raise funds for London’s voluntary legal agencies and advice centres. A&O has supported the LLST since its launch in 2003. The main fundraising events organised by the LLST are the six-mile London legal sponsored walk, taking place in May each year, and the longer 40-mile walk along the Thames each February. Last year just over £400,000 was raised from the two walks. The money helped five law centres avoid going into liquidation.
