Greenberg Traurig has cut ties with a partner after he was charged with taking more than $1m (£670m) in inflated legal bills from a Chicago suburb, reports The Am Law Daily.

Mark McCombs, a government affairs partner in the firm’s Chicago office, was arrested on Friday (5 March) and charged by state prosecutors. If convicted of the charge of theft of government services, McCombs faces between six and 30 years in prison.
