The Legal Services Board (LSB) has launched a detailed consultation on the framework of Alternative Business Structures (ABSs), with plans to issue the first licenses by mid-2011. The paper, entitled ‘Alternative business structures: approaches to licensing', was issued today (18 November) and calls for responses from the profession on principles that future ABSs will have to implement, and licensing authorities such as the Law Society will be expected to regulate.
