"I am currently on maternity leave and due to go back to work in December. However, my firm asked for volunteers to take redundancy and I put myself forward. My employers have said that they will terminate my employment on the date I am due to return to work, and will sort out all wages and my P45 after that time. In the meantime, I went to a job interview, got the job and they want me to start immediately. Is there any issue with me taking another job before my redundancy is finalised? And will I be penalised for finishing my maternity leave early?"
