Clifford Chance (CC) laid off 35 business support staff from its US practice at the end of last year, it has emerged. The employees were laid off across the firm's New York and Washington DC offices in early December following a staffing review. The firm did not supply an office breakdown, but said that the majority of the cuts would have affected the significantly larger New York office.The review was launched after the firm decided to lay off 20 associates in its US litigation practice in October, which the firm said changed its requirements support staff.
