Eversheds is set to leave its top three pay bands unused when the firm finalises its partner remuneration review at the end of March. The national giant is in the final stages of re-assessing where partners are placed on its 12-band system. However, designate managing partner Lee Ranson confirmed that no-one is likely to join bands 10 or above, with the firm maintaining it wants to hold the higher tiers in reserve.The system, which binds partners in for a two-year period, was introduced in May 2007, with chief executive David Gray telling Legal Week at the time that no partners were likely to be placed in the top tier, which would have put them in line to earn up to £1.2m.
