Linklaters has lost banking partner in Paris after Jean-Jacques Essombe quit for French independent firm Brandford-Griffith & Associes earlier this month. Essombe is set to head the banking and finance department at Brandford-Griffith, marking the firm's twelfth partner. The firm has around 25 lawyers in total. The French independent focuses on a narrow field of practice areas, principally in the corporate, finance, tax and litigation sectors. The firm said the hire came as part of plans to boost its restructuring capabilities in the light of the current financial downturn.Essombe joined Linklaters as a partner in August 2001 with a brief to build a specialised regulatory team targeting financial markets and funds work.
