Letters were sent yesterday (11 February) to all trainees due to start at the firm in autumn 2009 and spring/autumn 2010 to ask if they would defer.The letter, seen by Legal Week, outlines the current difficulties the firm is facing in light of the economic downturn, stating that the firm needs to manage the number of trainees joining Lovells at each intake.
