Walkers has boosted its City office with the hire of Maples and Calder partner Linda Martin as its new head of finance and corporate for London and the Middle East. The offshore law firm appointed Martin last month from Maples' London office, bringing the number of lawyers in the office to 19, including seven partners.Commenting on the appointment, Martin said: "Even in a tough market there are opportunities for a talented and dedicated team such as Walkers. I am particularly looking forward to using my experience in Hong Kong, London and the Cayman Islands to help expand Walkers' proven ability to offer clients counsel on a wide array of complex global issues."
