DLA Piper joint chief executive Nigel Knowles has received a knighthood in the Queen's New Year Honours list. Knowles' knighthood, awarded for services to the legal profession, has been billed as the first time in 15 years that a solicitor in private practice has received such an honour.DLA Piper International senior partner Peter Wayte said: "All of us at DLA Piper are immensely proud that Nigel has been awarded Knight Bachelor. We believe this recognises his truly exceptional service to the legal profession, both in terms of his leadership within DLA Piper and the role he has played in driving the responsible business agenda, particularly in the area of climate change."
