Managing legal costs, establishing a close-knit legal team and ensuring the company is working to the highest possible ethical standards, were some of the issues dealt with this year by general counsel. Man Group general counsel Stephen Ross was shortlisted for the award for his work managing legal costs and demonstrating his team's value by highlighting its productivity and contributions to the business. The legal team also played an important role in helping the company offset carbon emissions as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
