Life insurance and pensions provider AEGON UK has appointed Shepherd and Wedderburn corporate partner Marian Glen as its first-ever general counsel. As part of the new role, Glen will advise the company executive on legal and corporate governance issues as well as taking on company secretarial duties. Glen will formally take up the position in January 2009 and will report to AEGON UK finance director Mark Laidlaw.
