National firm Cobbetts has boosted its European Union (EU) and competition team with the appointment of a partner from Irish heavyweight Matheson Ormsby Prentice (MOP). Jonathan Branton, who is based in the UK law firm's Manchester office, joined Cobbetts last month as a partner to lead its EU and competition team. He was formerly a partner in MOP's EC, competition and regulatory law group in Dublin.
