It seems extremely difficult to believe that up until about 30 years ago, some people were reluctant to accept that child sexual abuse took place at all. It has become dreadfully clear since that time that such beliefs were very misplaced. In recent years there have been several high-profile cases involving care homes and other institutions where sexual abuse has been alleged to have taken place many years previously.

The historic nature of these offences and other recent cases, including the much-publicised ‘Lotto rapist’ case, have brought into focus the limitations on being able to bring personal injury claims arising from sexual abuse.
