The chair of the Legal Services Commission, Sir Michael Bichard, is set to step down from his position, it was announced this week (6 May). Bichard will leave at the end of August to take up a new post as director of a new Institute for Government funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. He will take up his new role in September 2008 with the recruitment process to find a new chair of the Legal Services Commission set to be launched shortly.
