Two reinsurance partners – including the head of the practice – are leaving Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft to join rival law firms, writes the New York Law Journal.

Reinsurance chief Lawrence Brandes is set to join the New York office of transatlantic giant DLA Piper later this week, while another partner, Harry Cohen, will join the Manhattan branch of Crowell & Moring at the beginning of next month. Both joined Cadwalader in 2000 as part of a four-partner group from legacy firm Rosenman & Colin, where Brandes had at one time been firm chairman as well as head of the insurance and reinsurance practice.
