The proportion of female partners at UK law firms rose by more than 5% between 2006 and 2007, according to new research, although women still represent less than a quarter of all partners in private practice. The latest annual statistical report by the Law Society, the largest domestic study of its kind, found there were 7,420 female partners in England and Wales as of 31 July, 2007 - equating to 22% of private practice partners.
